Viewtiful Joe Series
Originally, it was created by a design team of "Capcom Production Studio 4" of "CAPCOM", "Team Viewtiful". Since then, Clover Studio created the next work.


It was one of "Capcom Five", actually, it would plan to release for only Nintendo Cube, but later, it released to convert to PS2. 

It's one of the stylish action games which was famous for "Devil May Cry"; when it released, it was criticized as being popular that it showed new style of action games.

A main character, Joe who was crazy about "Hero", he took his girlfriend, Silvia to the fantastic hero's show although she didn't like it. However it started with unexpected opening. A hero, Captain Blue who was Joe's idol was defeated by overwhelming attack of the evil villain, Zard. Zard who ruled the world in the movie, finally, changed his ambition to conquer the real world, after that, he took Joe's girlfriend, Silvia into the Movie. Joe also went into the movie to rescue his girlfriend who was kidnapped. Then Joe became a hero, and fought against the villain.


It could be puerile story, but the influence of this game was awesome. Especially the fantastic action system was an important part to raise the value of the game to a higher position. It's difficult from what it was showed, so it was very difficult. However it was successful to get lots of fans. 

It would plan to release for only Nintendo Cube, but changed their mind, so it released to convert to PS2, and Dante who was main character of "Devil May Cry", appeared on the game by friendship, that's why it's more popular. Japanese edition for PS2 was titled "Viewtiful Joe : A New Hope."

After first one, the new alien unit, Gedow invaded "Movie Land" and tried to get "Rainbow Oscar" which was a small sculpture in seven parts. There was ability which called "The Power of Happy Ending." in the Rainbow Oscar. So the hero, Joe adventured with his new partner who was his girlfriend, Silvia...


The second volume which came back with gorgeousness of the first one. His girlfriend, Silvia who was kidnapped on the first one, appeared to repulse the enemy with Joe this time. But there were lots of gossip of this product, because it released at the similar time with the first one which converted to PS2. 

It was still popular, because it still had characteristic and stylish action with novel puzzle which was solved by various way. However, Korean gamer felt sorry, because it was not released in Korea that the publisher for Korea, Kokocapcom went bankrupt. A subtitle was "Viewtiful Joe 2 : A mysterious Black Film."

Retired "Captain Blue", he decided to make a film by himself, and thought about how to cast for characters. Finally he got an idea which was an audition. Most tough and a nice guy would be a main character on this audition. So characters who have ever appeared on "Viewtiful Joe" series attended the audition and boast about their power, personality...


It's the battle game to show the stylish side which was the feature of the game. This game was that all of characters of "Viewtiful Joe" appeared, so the effect of fantastic action for each character was so good, but on the whole, it was desultory, it was criticised badly. And also, it was criticised that it was boring by simple battle. Japanese Edition was "Viewtiful Joe : Battle Carnival.", American Edition was "Viewtiful Joe : Red Hot Rumble".

Viewtiful Joe Animation

This animation was organized 51 episodes to be based on the game. It was on the air for a year. The director was Ishiyama Takayaki who directed "Kishin Heidan", "Fairy Musketeers Akazukin", and the production was group "Tac" who produced "Bono Bono", "School Alice", Capcom who produced "Rockman Exe" series.

Plot
Movieland. A theme park modeled after the hits. During the filming of the legendary superhero movie Cpatain Blue, a mysterious army called Madow runs off with the movie's film. Viewtiful Joe, a hero who believes in the beauty of justice, and his sister Jasmine set off into the attractions of Movieland to chase the Madow and return the stolen film!

Every person has their own favorite genre. In my case, my favorite genre is an adventure which I should use my head, or RPG which has lots of the interesting adventure, but when I play those kind of games, I sometimes want to look for simple game that I can cool my head.

The game is that hitting and fighting without thinking. While I was looking for such as the games, finally I got one, it's "Viewtiful Joe". The using word is simple, fighting without thinking and action, but actually, it makes player angry. More be honest, these kind of games make player crazy. 

"Viewtiful Joe" which was released for NDS, was released for Game Cube and PS a long time ago, and made a big hit. There were some points for box-office in secret, one of them is that it focused on stylish action.
